Zone Director Selection Process

Jim Paddock, Club Treasurer, explains the process by which Rotary selects our Zone Directors. The Director is selected to a 2 year term and will serve Zone 26 and Zone 27. Each zone consists of 16 districts and covers an area north to Modesto and east encompassing NV, CO, AZ & West TX.

We kicked things off at 7am with the pledge from Alex and words of inspiration from Paul, standing in for Debye.
Alex kicked things off with a report on Cowabunga. “Everyone seemed to have a good time”, which was the consensus. His only complaint was the light tower fiasco with the city. The tower did not work leaving us literally in the dark for half of the festival area.
Ward dropped in to leave the sponsor prize on his way out of town. Therefore, no City report this week
Chamber report from Kathi included Wine Down Wednesday @ Rembrandt's from 5-7pm on 9/22
Friday 9/24 was the Power Networking 11:30- 1 at Rembrandt's with speaker Matt Wolf
HERITAGE DAYS NEWS
TC has a signup sheet for Heritage Days Pancake Breakfast shifts starting at 5am to 10am
We will also attempt to put together the place mat ads for the pancake Breakfast. Ads are $50
Kathi reminded the club we will also have a food booth during the event. We are still waiting for city approval
Next Thursday 9/30 is the State of the City. Rotary will have a table. It is full at this time, but we can add more if needed. The place Alta Vista CC 11:15-1PM. Tickets are $45

Jim was recently selected to as an alternate and eventual member to select the next Rotary Zone Director.
He broke down the grueling multi day process of the selection. Though he was not able to divulge to much detail on candidates or selections he was able to give us an overview of the procedures.
The Director is selected to a 2 year term and will serve Zone 26 and Zone 27. Each zone consists of 16 districts and covers an area north to Modesto and east encompassing NV, CO, AZ & West TX.
The reps from each district in the selection process meet at the LAX Hilton for 2 days narrowing the field down from 5 candidates
Ultimately the chose Dan Himelspach as the Director. He will assume the post on an Interim December 1st.
